Harmony Day

Liz Gebadi and Annie Mabo, both TAVE students, at the promotional table for Harmony Day, March 25th 2010 at Tropical North Qld TAFE. They were talking to customers about celebrating cultural diversity and appreciating the contribution that different people play in society. Everyone is special, we just need to look for the qualities that make that person unique.

Orange is the colour that symbolises harmony and those balloons attracted people to the table. Tattoos, badges and stickers promoting Harmony Day were given away, together with a chance to talk to people about the reason for the day. The girls were assessed on skills in communication, history of the day, and passing on suggestions about how to appreciate and interact with different people.
